Programme guide for all UK TV Channels
Our core TV business can be divided into two distinct categories :
(i) the installation of subscription satellite TV systems costing the equivalent of up to £45 per month for access to 'Sky-like' TV packages. These TV packages are supplied using genuine equipment from the original manufacturer and a genuine customer account with the TV broadcaster.
(ii) the installation of subscription sport's TV systems that cover a number of different sports and sporting competitions and events (with extensive LIVE coverage of rugby, golf, tennis, cricket, snooker, etc.) but which focus mainly on English Premier League football and other popular European football competitions.
These TV systems are attractive to the British in Cyprus who require :
(i) better content than is provided by the 25+ English speaking TV channels that are provided on a free to air basis (funded by advertising) by broadcasters using the various satellites that are available in the region.
(ii) better picture quality than is available from the abovementioned free to air TV channel providers
(iii) better picture quality than is available by connecting a computer to the TV and using a VPN connection with BBC iPlayer and ITV Player etc.
(iv) better picture quality than is available from free UK TV services such as or
(v) a normal 'Sky-like' TV system with a remote control and a proper menu-driven navigation system with a seven day electronic programme guide.
(vi) a guarantee that the TV system is not Pirated, meaning that the system does not provide illegal access to stolen TV content - something which is illegal and something that 'anyone' (provider or receiver) can be (and has been) prosecuted for and which, as a result of this, may be closed down at any time without notice and without monetary refund for the initial cost of hardware, installation or advanced payments.
(vii) a guarantee that the TV system is not a card-sharing or picture re-broadcast scheme which uses the internet as its broadcast medium and which are notoriously unreliable and prone to picture freeze, repeated stopping and starting and eventual complete failure.
Additionally, we also supply TV set top boxes which provide the means for users to access UK TV content (LIVE BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 etc.). We developed and supply this system to satisfy the demand for UK TV content from the British Expatriate Community residing in Cyprus who :
(i) want to watch UK TV content on their TV without the need to attach a laptop or noisy desktop computer to the TV and fiddle around connecting and disconnecting cables and using a mouse.
(ii) want to use a TV system with a remote control and a proper menu-driven navigation system with an electronic programme guide.
(iii) want a better picture quality than is available by connecting a computer to the TV and using a VPN connection with BBC iPlayer and ITV Player etc.
(iv) don't want to pay a monthly subscription payment to a TV Pirate to receive illegal access to UK (paid-for subscription channels).
(v) don't want to pay a monthly subscription to use a UK VPN connection.
English Premier League Football, the world's most popular league
The English Premier League raised more than £3 billion for the current 3 year deal to broadcast Premier League Football games in the UK. A total of 154 Premier League games will be broadcast live for each of the three football seasons with Sky showing 116 and BT showing 38 - nearly £6.5 million per game !
Then on top of this, there's the estimated £2.3 billion revenue that the Premier League are to receive for the 2013-2016 TV broadcast rights for the rest of the World !
With £5.3 billion in the coffers, the football teams playing in the Premier League are set to see a considerable increase in the fees that they receive in return for playing in the English Premier League.
The Premier League football clubs receive their share of the revenue based upon a formula which includes them each receiving an equal share of half the revenue from the sale of the UK TV rights and an equal share of the total revenue from the sale of the overseas television broadcast rights.
Additionally, each club receives a fee for each of the games that they have televised and a further league-position based payment at the end of each season.
Middle East & North African broadcast rights, Premier League 2013-16
The English Premier League announced in January 2013 that the next three year's broadcast rights for the Mena region had been awarded to the media rights acquisition company MP and Silva who have a proven track record and already work with the English Premier League in a number of other regions.
The rights for the Mena region were awarded to MP and Silva because (apparently) the main TV broadcast companies in the region were displaying a reluctance to get involved in competitive bidding for the rights.
Commentators in all quarters were speculating that this was because the Abu Dhabi Media Company (ADMC) who acquired the rights for 2010-2013, didn't turn a profit on the £238 million that they 'reportedly' paid which was triple the fee that OSN paid for the previous three year's broadcast rights.
It seems that the broadcast TV companies are no longer prepared to pay an extortionate fee simply for the 'privilege' or 'prestige' of broadcasting the English Premier League games in the Mena region and that they may have collectively decided that they should be allowed or at least, stand half a chance of turning a profit on their monetary investment.
With none of the main TV companies in the region showing a willingness to acquire the exclusive broadcast rights for all 380 live Premier League games in each of the next three seasons, it's now looks almost certain that MP and Silva will be forced to split up the package and sell non-exclusive broadcast rights to several or even more TV companies.
